About the artist

Hailed as a “technical wizard”, Chinese classical guitarist Hao Yang is the winner of the 2024 Koblenz International Guitar Competition “Hubert Käppel”, the second prize winner of the 2024 GFA International Concert Artist Competition, and recipient of the 2026 Harvard Musical Association Foote Award. Hao is also a recipient of the 2026 CAG Louis and Susan Meisel Prize. A passionate chamber musician, Hao made her Carnegie Hall debut premiering the guitar duo “Talking Guitars” by renowned composer Paul Lansky alongside JIJI. Hao holds degrees from the Yale School of Music, University of Denver, and the Curtis Institute of Music.
